2. Will the ketubah colors look as beautiful in real as it appears on my screen?

So you have the best screen out there, or you maybe browsing with your Palm, the colors may vary. However as you can read below the colors on your computer can't even compare with the real thing.
"Hi Nava,
I just wanted to tell you how truly beautiful the Ketubah I received yesterday is. It was very pretty in the picture on the web, but I was bowled over by how gorgeous the print was in real life (not to mention the FABULOUS paper it's on!). Thanks so much, Brian and I are going to enjoy having it hang in our home! Lisa"

Still not convinced, we offer a color sample of the artwork, smaller than the final 30"x25", but you can get some idea of the vibrancy and quality of the art.
OK, still not convinced here is another testimony: "Nava- Elissa and I were in Philadelphia this weekend and got to see the ketubah.
It's really beautiful - the pictures don't do it justice. Everyone who has seen it agrees - Elissa's parents, her brothers, The Rabbi - It's gorgeous!
I can't say how happy we are to have stumbled onto Your web page. Your work will light up our marriage for years to come, Thank you very much, Bryan and Elissa.

3. "Hi Nava, we paid for a print, we got an original artwork, Awesome! Wow!", How?

I take pride in my craft! Working with top silk screen printmakers throughout the years, and experiencing many techniques in printmaking, I have learned that each stage in the printmaking is important and has it's own difficulties. To get those very best museum quality prints, I work closely with the hand painted original and ensure that the final print will stand out as beautiful and color saturated as the hand painted original itself.
When presenting for the first time my Giclee collection to the Jewish museum in NYC, their first response was: "Is it one of your new hand painted originals?"
They were stunned by the quality of the print. I felt very happy about it! They could not believe how the new prints captured the details and vibrancy of the original artwork. The crisp touch of the pencils, the gouaches, the flow sheer water colors and the soft warmth touch or the lifetime archival Artist paper, all giving a feeling of a real hand painted original artwork.

Read and learn the differences between each movements (Orthodox, Conservative, Reform) ketubot texts:
Orthodox Text: Traditionally the Ketubah has been one of the three ways that a Jewish couple could become married. In modern times the Ketubot has become the main way that a Jewish Couple solidifies their bond together. The traditional text is in essence a Jewish legal document spelling out the rights and responsibilities of both the husband and wife. Furthermore the Ketubah also offers the bride protection in the event that their marriage is dissolved. A Ketubah is also considered one of the first examples of a prenuptial agreement. It is written in Aramaic (the main language of the Jews during the time of its codification in the year 500 C.E.). Some Orthodox Ketubot are also available with an English section - this is not a translation of the Aramaic, but describes the date, location, bride and groom's names and includes a short commitment of love and respect.
Conservative Text: The Conservative text is the same traditional Aramaic text which has been used over the centuries in all Jewish Marriage Ceremonies. In the last 50 years, the Conservative movement taking into consideration the plight of Agunot (chained women whose husband will not give them a get, or Jewish Divorce Bill and thus they can't remarry in a traditional Jewish ceremony) has added an extra clause onto the end of the Ketubah. This clause which is called the Lieberman Clause, after its founder, Prof. Saul Lieberman includes an additional provision in which the groom promises to give his bride a bill of divorce should she ever want one thus negating the possibility that any woman could ever become a chained woman again. Almost all Conservative Ketubot include a modern English statements of mutual love and affection, this combines with the Traditional Aramaic text makes the ketubah even more accessible and meaningful to the couple.
Reform/Egalitarian Text: Reform texts are written in Modern Hebrew and English, and are a blend of the major themes of the traditional ketubot (love and commitment) with the couples own hopes and dreams for themselves and their future family. There is a fairly large degree of variation in the wording that appears on different Reform Ketubot both in the Hebrew as well as in the English.
Non Denominational Text: These texts which are written in Modern Hebrew and or English are entirely egalitarian, gender neutral, and are appropriate for interfaith marriages or commitment ceremony.
Anniversary Text: These texts come to celebrate a couple's continuing love over the years. They allow a couple to look back with love on the past, while celebrating at the same time their present thus reinforcing the bonds for the future.

7. Can our 150 distinguished guests sign the ketubah?

I had quite a few requests from couple who wanted extra signature spaces for more then the usual two witnesses, Rabbi, Cantor, Officiant...
I will accommodate these additions with no extra personalization charge, for you to share your happiness with as many of your friends and guests.

8. What type of pen should we use for the ketubah signing?

You can use any ball pen with non run ink. We do not recommend the use of any fountain or ink pens since these tend to bleed in the paper or leak.
Try your pen prior to signing the ketubah, especially if you plan on signing it in Hebrew.

Yes, we can mail you a small sample of the actual artwork, on the actual paper for your review. The cost of this is $20. You'll be reimburse the $20 if you purchase the ketubah.

14. Define Serigraph, Giclee, Lithograph.

What is a Serigraph?
This is a reproduction process that more closely mimics original art, but it is still a reproduction. They are usually done in significantly smaller edition sizes and are done much like a silk screen print. Layer after layer of ink is applied, one color at a time, until it is finished. Sometimes 20, 30, or even more screens are applied to achieve the desired results. The finished print is more brilliant in color and has a more “original” look to it. They require a much higher degree of work
by the artist than offset reproductions. Edition sizes vary, but are usually no more than a few hundred.
In addition to this Serigraph process I applied metallic colors (Gold, Silver and Bronze) using the Silk screen process, to get a final touch of luminous shine:
Colors were separated to be printed, then making a separate stencil from each of those images either directly onto a screen or adheres each stencil to a screen. The "screen" is a rectangular frame over which a mesh fabric (originally silk) has been stretched. Each color is printed by pulling a squeegee with specially-formulated ink over the screen. The ink passes through the open portions of the stencil onto the fine art paper underneath. The sheet of paper is then picked up and laid on printing racks to dry. The prints may then be unracked and the next color printed. On an average day, one or two colors can be printed.
Because a Serigraph is a true original, the only thing that limits its value is the reputation of the artist. At Christie's art auctions in New York, serigraphs have sold for six figure prices. Serigraphs have been accepted into prestigious art museum collections.

What is a Giclee Print?
Giclee is a French word which means "squirt" or "spurt" (often with the connotation of passion) Giclee is a print produced by the use of computer technology and a high-quality, large-scale, commercial printer. The lifetime archival inks used are rapidly "squirted" or "sprayed" through the micro-jet nozzles of the printer onto the surface of a substrate. The substrate used for a Giclee print is often much like the one used for the original artwork--usually Artist canvas or 100% cotton acid free high-quality paper--thus creating a piece of artwork amazingly similar to the original.
The Giclee print is a growing medium. Now many artists agree that Giclee prints compare to Serigraphs and that it is no longer a question of which is better. Each is simply a different art form - each with its own advantage.

What is a Lithograph Print?

There are two types of lithographs. One is an original lithograph which is a true original art print and the other is an offset lithograph that is a photochemical reproduction of an original painting. Most of the limited-edition prints today are created by the offset lithograph process. In the lithograph process a photograph is taken of an original painting. Then it is reproduced with an offset lithograph printing press which uses normally only four colors. These four colors are blended together to give the appearance of many colors. In today's high tech printing, expensive presses can get very close to the original colors in a painting by using only four colors.

15. What is a Ketubah?

The Ketubah The Jewish Marriage Contract

Ketubah literally means written and is the marriage contract signed and read at Jewish wedding ceremonies. Traditionally, every bride received a ketubah from her groom, a legal document which protected her rights. The contract specified the groom s financial obligations, including a minimum divorce settlement and a minimum inheritance in case of her husband s death. Also, the document specified the woman s right to food, clothing and conjugal rights, as well as the husband s responsibility to care for her, provide for her, and cherish her.
The ancient ketubah was a major step forward in women s rights. In a world in which women were often viewed as property, Judaism ensured that every bride was accorded dignity and security in the marriage. The ketubah is signed just prior to the wedding ceremony. It requires two Jewish witnesses, unrelated to each other, the bride or groom. The ketubah is read under the chupah (marriage canopy) during the wedding ceremony. Today, the rabbi usually reads the ketubah, although some couples read the ketubah to each other.
In recent years, advances have been made in the text of the ketubah. Due to the Reform movement s commitment to gender equality, virtually all Reform couples utilize an egalitarian text which specifies the mutual moral, spiritual and ethical obligations of the bride and groom.
